01/06/09 Back from the Forest of Useless Animals
Right, I'll just leave this here, then...

A significant part of me feels an explanation is in order for my prolonged absence, even though the majority of readers will, most likely, merely be satisfied that I'm updating again. And while I'd like to offer a thorough explanation, there are just some things that it's not possible for me to discuss here, for a whole host of reasons. But for a brief overview, it sort of happened like this: I got engrossed with learning Flash, hoping to develop something fun for the site. However, like most of my plans, I soon realised that what I was trying to make was, although possible, horrendously complicated. Nevertheless, I kept at it for a week an a half, justifying my lack of updates with the notion that, well, I was still working on stuff for the site. Then some other stuff happened all at once and, already out of the habit of updating, I found myself continually putting the next comic off, again and again. And this is why there was never a notification of my hiatus. It was never meant to be a hiatus, and every time, I told myself that this would be the last missed update, and I'd definitely get it together in the next few days. And thus, the cycle continued.

You can thank my lovely fiancée for giving me the metaphorical kick up the arse that triggered this update. And it's hard getting back into it - I'm not very fond of this particular page at all, and you wouldn't believe how long it took me given the dodgy art you see up there now.

Still, as the Romulans once said, "Matters more urgent caused our absence. Now, witness the result... Yes, we have indeed been negligent, Captain, but no more. We are back."

Next time, I hope to discuss the excellent Katawa Shoujo without once using the phrase "better than it sounds."

Talking with Rin is like playing chess with a supercomputer who does seemingly random moves as if to mock everything you know about chess.
